I thought this a good post for a Wednesday – these little balls of joy are a cinch to make and will give you the energy boost you need to get through the rest of the week.

I’ve become quite addicted to those Homemade Nakd Bars I posted a while back. Not being one to fear experimenting with food I’ve thrown plenty of other combinations of dried fruit and nuts at my food processor with varying additions and the results are generally pretty good.

These little cranberry macadamia power bites are so delicious I thought they were worthy of a post of their own. Try and stop yourself from popping one in your mouth every time you open the fridge. Go on I dare you.

Now let’s just pretend that you that need convincing to make these little cranberry and macadamia power bites:

Cranberries are very high in antioxidants and we all know those are good.
Macadamia nuts are a great source of minerals such as magnesium and potassium as well as a range of B vitamins.
Oats need no introduction, I’ve said it before on here but I am slightly obsessed. They are good for your cholesterol levels and a great source of fibre. Personally I find they don’t have as much of an impact on my blood sugars as other grains so I tend to put them in everything!
The last major ingredient is milled linseeds with added sesame, just to up the nutritional value of these delicious little balls and ensure that every single one is a mini nutritional bomb.

Store in the fridge. (Freeze if you don’t think you will eat them all in a week. You will though.)

Cranberry Macadamia Power Bites

Ingredients for Cranberry Macadamia Power Bites

Makes about 12 bites

50g Dried Cranberries
50g Macadamia Nuts
3/4 Cup of Oats
1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
3 Heaped Tbsp Milled Linseeds (mine had added sesame seeds)
2 Tbsp Maple Syrup OR 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract OR 1 heaped Teaspoon of Cacao Powder.


Add the cranberries and macadamias to your food processor. Process until they are fine, depending on the power of your processor this could take 5-10 minutes.
Add the oats and continue processing until they have been incorporated and are mostly blitzed to a fine flour. Add the milled linseeds while the processor continues to work.
Melt your coconut oil so that it is liquid but not hot and slowly add it to the mix.

At this point you can add a bit of vanilla extract, some maple syrup, some cacao powder if you want but they are perfectly good like this!

The mix should come together now into one large ball. Remove from the processor and pull off little bite size pieces. Roll between your hands into a ball shape. Roll in dessicated coconut for a little decoration. Try not to eat every second one.
